Kitesurfing in Australia is AMAZING! Warm water, long sandy beaches, friendly locals ... so if you are planning a trip here are some resources to check out. Associations: www.aksa.com.au (lists all state bodies) www.nswkba.com.au Membership is $60 for 1 year and includes member discounts and third party insurance, info on kite spots and social gatherings, access to restricted beaches. Weather: www.seabreeze.com.au www.bom.gov.au Forums: www.seabreeze.com.au Thanks Laurie ! Lifestyle Gallery: www.kitesurfing.com.au Thanks Rob ! Locals It is always a good idea to talk to locals before venturing out for a kite. If they are not out kiting then probably you should not be out either. Most locals want to make sure there are no incidents at their spot so have a chat with them, find out the local rules and hazards and kite safe! Biting Things Lots of people think Australia is full of biting things like snakes, spiders, ants, flies, sharks, jellyfish etc etc etc It is! But the good news is most of these things are more scared of you than you are of them so you are likely not to even see any of them. If you are travelling in Nothern Queensland in summer months make sure to wear stinger suits in the water.
